How Phoenix Warehouses Can Cut Costs with Recycled Pallets

Match the Pallet to the Journey
The right pallet starts with how your freight actually moves. A block pallet built for four-way forklift access behaves very differently from a stringer pallet, and the gap between them shows up fast once product is loaded, wrapped, and racked.
Weight rating, deckboard spacing, and wood species all factor in. Heavier loads need tighter deck spacing and a denser hardwood, while lighter, high-volume shipments can lean on softwood to keep cost and weight down.
When to Standardize
If you ship across multiple carriers or into big-box distribution, standardizing on a single pallet spec almost always pays for itself in fewer rejections and smoother handling downstream.
